   Maryland Odyssey of the Mind is a developing program. Thank you to all of the volunteers who came from out of state to help out in Maryland today and all year.  The Maryland program could not currently function without outside help.  In order to grow our program and strengthen the experience of our participants, I am looking for volunteers who are willing to take on some the key responsibilities. We want the program in Maryland to expand and grow and in order to do that we need more people to step up! If you are interested in taking on one of these important roles please e-mail Melissa. Remember that you will not just be thrown into a position. Help will be available every step of the way as you learn.

There are several very important jobs that need to be filled in Maryland:

Long Term Problem Captains:

Know the problem thoroughly

bullet

Be aware of any problem clarifications issued for the problem

bullet

Train judges in the problem at judges training

bullet

Respond to any problem specific questions from judges

bullet

Oversee and assist with the set up of the competition site

bullet

Run the problem on the tournament day making sure all the judges know their duties and responsibilities for the day

bullet

Handle disputes for any disgruntled coaches at the tournament

bullet Problem 2 and 3 PC Filled. Problems 1, 4 and 5 Open

Merchandise Coordinator:

Communicate with merchandise vendor for Maryland souvenirs

bullet

Communicate with CCI for Odyssey souvenirs on consignment

bullet

Organize sales during events

bullet

Take orders from coaches for pins and t-shirts for World Finals

 

Refreshments Coordinator:

Coordinate refreshments for coaches training

bullet

Coordinate refreshments for judges training

bullet

Coordinate refreshments for judges at the tournament

 

Officials' Coordinator:

bulletWork with PC's to make sure they have what they need
